Register Web Clocks
Web clocks are PCs, tablets or other shared devices which run the same clock application as hardware time clock, but on your browser based device. The requirements to run a Web Clock are:
- Late model device (must have sufficient CPU to run modern browser)
- Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox or compatible browser with latest updates
- Internet connect (wired or wifi)
The registration process is similar to the hardware time clocks in-that a unique validation ID will be generated by the app running on the local device. That validation ID is then entered through the clock registration wizard in the platform application.
To register a web clock, use the browser on the target device and browse to:
If your browser is locked down or in a tighter security setting, the above site may not be reachable or allowed to function properly. If the app doesn't appear as in the image below, consult with your IT team to insure that all content from *.simplywork.com is allowed.
Now go to the Clocks app under Clock Management in the system menu in the platform and use the Add
button to register the web clock. This process is the same as registering a hardware time clock.
The Clock Profile used when registering web clock should be different than the one used for hardware time clock, even if the configuration is the same. Generally, hardware time clocks may have biometric, card readers, relays or other physical differences so a different profile should be created.
